Noncombat Skilling Guide

Skills Training

Some skills are a vital part of your character's PvM strength. Here we go over some of the ways to train the skills and what they unlock. Full skilling guides for every skill can be found on the Wiki.

Prayer prayer

⬥ 46 prayer for protection prayers that halve that type of damage received.

70 prayer - best DPS prayers on the normal prayer book Piety Rigour augury sanctity

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• Unlocked after completing King's Ransom and knight training, for when you start PvMing or bossing.

92-95 prayer Curses

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• Requires completion of The Temple at Senntisten quest

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• Unlocks soulsplit which heals you based on damage dealt.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• Gives access to strong DPS curses turmoil anguish torment sorrow, which should be your primary long-term goal.

⬥ Primarily train prayer by burying bones with powder of burials powderofburials.

Suggested prayer quests & training:

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 1-43: Do: Restless Ghost, Priest in Peril, and One Piercing NoteHoly Cithara (if Desert Treasure completed) quests and then God Statues monthly D&D. Then:

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 1-95 Cheap: Offer Infernal ashes at Chaos Altar.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 1-70: Bury dragon bones with powderofburials active

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 70-95: Bury dinosaur bones with powderofburials active

Summoning Summoning

Summoning allows you to summon helpful familiars for to aid you in combat via extra inventory, healing, or dealing damage.

Note: This assumes you already have the charms needed from other PvM content. The list of familiars suggested below is only a recommendation.

⬥ The weekly Familiarisation minigame can be beneficial when farming charms (triple charms for up to 40 minutes).

Charming potions add +1 charms dropped when killing things, and are tradeable on the GE - use them when gathering charms for training summoning!

Arch glacor 0-1 mechanics is a low-level boss that drops a lot of blue charms.

Suggested pouches to craft:

Herblore Herblore

Herblore herblore grants you access to untradeable potions such as Overloads (96+ herblorefor combat skill boosting, and adrenaline potions (84+ herblore) for more adrenaline on-demand.

Note: prices of supplies and potions fluctuate. Making certain potions may even be profitable. Do some research before training.

Warbands are one option for relatively fast and free Herblore XP, but may require some time investment to learn, and are located in the Wilderness.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• unavailable for iron.

Herby Werby has no requirements and can be done after visiting Anachronia once. Buy ancient seeds to return weekly.

⬥ You can choose to wait for a DXP (Double XP) weekend to train.

⬥ Always make use of portable wells when making potions for the +10% experience boost.

Suggested training methods:

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 1-38: Do Warbands daily, Herby-Werby weekly or the highest level potion available

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 38-52: Prayer potions

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 52-66: Super Energy potions

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 66-84: Super Defence potions

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 84-88: Adrenaline potions

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 88-96: Make ~3000 of each extreme potion. Should that not be enough, just make some more adrenaline potions OR more extremes of equal amounts until you hit 96.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 96-99: Overloads

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 98-99: Supreme overloads

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎⬩ You can boost to 107 herblore via pulse core once you get to 99 in order to make Elder overload potions. These are the best-in-slot potions, and very worth the cost.

Slayer slayer

Slayer slayer may be less combat xp/hr than other methods; but comes with other benefits like making some coins, unlocking new monsters to kill, collecting charms for Summoning Summoning while training your combat stats all at the same time.

⬥ If you choose to do Slayer, prioritise completing the Smoking Kills quest. This doubles your point rewards from tasks. Then remember to quickly get a Full Slayer Helmet for the big accuracy and damage boost it provides for magicrangemelee.

⬥ Make sure to use the highest available Slayer Master to get the best tasks.

⬥ Early on, you can quickly train slayer by squishing Corrupted Scarabs at Menaphos.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• See the soulobby ‎FC for calls on when scarabs spawn.

⬥ Fast/expensive slayer training method:

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• Kill greater demon berserkers with Slayer wildcards to 115 slayer. Safespottable and even at lower levels this is very high xp/h.

Crafting crafting

80 crafting is required for Invention invention and also up to 85 crafting to craft necromancy armour.

Free/slow/cheap training methods:

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• Level 1+: dungeoneering crafting (craft magic/range armour in Daemonheim, sell them to the smuggler and buy more supplies, repeat).

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• Level 1+: crafting urns

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• Level 1+ weekly clan citadel contribution at loom plot

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• Level 75+: Priffdinas harps

Fast/pricey training methods:

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• Level 20+: Cutting gems (sapphire/ruby/emerald/diamond)

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• Level 54+: Crafting battlestaves

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• Level 63+: Crafting dragonhide armour

Divination divination

80 divination is required for Invention invention.

The best way to train Divination early on is through daily activities:

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 1-80: Guthixian Caches (start doing Caches ASAP - at low level, do them on legacy worlds, as there will be fewer people so you can Cres more often).

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 70-80: Hall of Memories (use corehunting ‎FC for the most efficient method of training here - they also have a Discord server if you are interested).

Smithing smithing

80 smithing is required for Invention invention and also up to 85 smithing to craft necromancy weapons.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• iron may benefit from saving armour for invention disassembling, or smithing full sets for burial armour on w70.

Suggested training methods:

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 1-30: Do The Knight's Sword quest, then make steel platebodies +1

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 30-40: Make mithril platebodies +2

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 40-50: Make adamant platebodies +2

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 50-60: Make rune platebodies +3

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 60-70: Make orikalkum platebodies +3

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 70-80: Make necrite platebodies +4

Invention Invention

Invention unlocks the ability to use perks on gear, which adds a huge amount of DPS, skilling utility and survivability.

Note: see #invention-basics for more information.

Suggested training methods:

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 1-4: Complete the Invention tutorial.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 4-27: Research max item level 5, and disassemble two items at level 5 (cheap options like crystal halberd, black salamander, etc.)

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 27-60: Research max item level 10, then disassemble items once they hit level 10.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• 60-99/120: Disassemble (at level 10) or siphon (at level 12) weapons and armour while doing PvM/bossing and the skill will passively level up over time.

Shattered Worlds can be used to powerlevel invention, at the cost of combat experience.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• Item experience will be higher than AFK alternatives, but the combat experience will be significantly reduced.

Archaeology archaeology

Archaeology relics boost skilling and PvM in many ways, and is required for many important quests.

Dungeoneering dungeoneering

Note: As tokens are the limiting factor for most upgrades, the farming of dungtoken is the focus of this subsection.

Dungeoneering dungeoneering is a support skill that gives a plethora of rewards to enhance your skilling and pvm (e.g. ring of vigour and Charming imp) that can be bought with dungtoken.

⬥ ‎ ‎Dungeoneering can be trained by completing Daemonheim floors or by doing Elite Dungeons.

Token dungtoken farming

An efficient token dungtoken farming method is killing minibosses in elite dungeons, which yields 5,000 dungtoken per kill.

Level 70+ stats and weapons are recommended.

Temple of Aminishi

⬥ Tokens dungtoken can be farmed in the Temple of Aminishi (ed1) on the first level solo up to trio (trio recommended). Click here for strategies.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• Miniboss spawns here are random. You can stretch your minimap to check for the miniboss icons.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• When all have been killed, restart the dungeon.

Cerberus Juvenile

⬥ Alternatively, one can kill the Cerberus Juvenile miniboss in the Zamorakian Undercity (ed4) at the beginning, solo up to 5-man. You can safespot him by standing just outside the room.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• He always spawns.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• By using bd or dive you can prevent luring the mages after the Mender passes, as shown here. Kill the Chaos witch mender after.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• When Cerberus has been killed, restart the dungeon.

Note: If the Mender aggros on you as you dive, the mages will be alerted!
